WtE in Gorlice - update

We’re proud to share that works on our Waste to Energy Plant in Gorlice are moving forward, and the installation of the boiler house is now underway. This marks an important milestone in the project, which we are realizing in Poland.

WtE plant on São Miguel Island, Azores

We’re proud to announce the successful completion of a new waste-to-energy plant on São Miguel Island, Azores - a project that demanded precision, resilience, and deep collaboration.
This facility marks a major milestone in the region’s energy and environmental strategy, reducing landfill dependency and converting local waste into reliable power, electrical energy enough to power 9,000 homes.
Building in the middle of the Atlantic brought lots of challenges:
- Logistics & maritime transport: Every shipment had to be precisely coordinated across long distances with limited transport windows.
- Cranes & heavy equipment availability: On-island resources were scarce, demanding efficient scheduling and external mobilization.
- Non-standard materials & components: Custom solutions and agile sourcing were key to progress.
- Specialized suppliers: Expertise had to be brought in from afar to meet high technical standards.
- Marine technical and regulatory constraints: Corrosive conditions, environmental safeguards, and coastal compliance shaped every design and execution choice.
This project stands as a clear example of what’s possible when innovation, engineering, and commitment align.
A huge congratulations to our teams and partners who helped bring this complex vision to life — and to the island community it now supports with clean, reliable energy.

WISE - TME patented system

TM.E. S.p.A. – Termomeccanica Ecologia, always focused on technological innovation, is pleased to embrace the opportunities offered by AI's introduction in its areas of expertise.
Wastewater Interactive System Equipment, or WISE® in short, is the patented system that is the result of our many years of research aimed at minimizing energy consumption and optimizing performance in wastewater treatment plants.
WISE® is an integrated logic developed for the control of wastewater treatment plants based on the analysis of a single chemical parameter, nitrogen, in the soluble forms NH4+ and NO3-.
The system autonomously controls the plant by modulating the recirculation of sludge, the insufflation of air and the excess sludge removed from the biological reactor. Optimal working conditions are identified in a predictive manner using technology supported by a neural network, allowing significant energy and functional efficiency gains and a considerable simplification of the installed sensors.
TM.E. S.p.A. – Termomeccanica Ecologia is proud of the granting of the European patent for WISE®, which will soon be implemented in the first two plants serving approximately 835,000 inhabitants.

WtE Plant in Gdansk inauguration

We are proud to announce the inauguration of the new Port Czystej Energii waste-to-energy plant, a key project for sustainable waste management and renewable energy production.
As partner of the EPC Contractor consortium, we faced and overcame complex technical and operational challenges but at this point we can finally talk about it in the past tense and celebrate the achievement.
The dedication of our professionals and the collaboration with Port Czystej Energii delivered an efficient, reliable plant ready to contribute to the circular economy.
Special thanks to all people involved who made this possible!

WtE Plant in Gorlice

The construction of the WtE Plant in Gorlice is proceeding full speed ahead. The basements are ready and the plant is growing fast.
The investment is crucial for the region, as it will allow to solve the problem of waste management by processing non-recyclable waste, and in addition - in the process of cogeneration - system heat and electricity will be produced.
We are gratified to be involved in this process together with our partner PORR Polska, and we are pleased to share a recent photo of the implementation

The fourth line of the WtE plant in San Vittore del Lazio

After building the first three lines of the WtE plant in San Vittore del Lazio, TM.E. S.p.A. - Termomeccanica Ecologia was also awarded the construction of the fourth line (as the leader of a Joint venture). The new line will treat 186,000 tons of RDF and sludge, producing over 200,000 MWh/year of electricity. We are glad to have signed this new contract with Acea Ambiente Srl, consolidating our long-term collaboration.

A new WtE facility in São Miguel

The significant logistical difficulties did not prevent us from accepting the challenge, and a new WtE facility is rising on the island of São Miguel, Azores Islands, in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. The Revitec combustion grate has been just installed. The particular geographical and environmental circumstances led the client to seek a grate guaranteeing an extraordinary availability and reliability, with significantly low maintenance needs, so we are satisfied they have made the choice for one of our products.

The second line of WtE plant in Rzeszow

Energy recovery from waste to replace fossil fuels – this is one of the goals in the zero-emission strategy. Using fuel produced of waste that cannot be recycled or reused allows for two significant improvements. First of all, it enables the waste cycle to be closed while complying with the limit of 10 percent of waste being sent to landfills. And second, it lowers the environmental impact of the energy production.

We are proud to take part in this process of the heating industry transformation implemented by PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna that involves the #WtE plant in Rzeszow where we build a second line together with our partner PORR Polska.
